Tudeh analyses beneficiaries of ongoing war

The article starts with stating that the Iranian people do not want war and want an immediate end to the missile attacks, airstrikes, and relief from the dire economic situation that has devastated their daily lives. 

A new arena of conflict is noted as Iranian oil tankers in the Persian Gulf were attacked in an aggressive and imposed war against Iran. 

Article stresses that these attacks could lead to further economic pressure on the people of the country, who have long been the main target of US imperialism’s inhumane sanctions and have been suffering from skyrocketing inflation, unemployment, petrol shortages, and worries about their future for months due to the collapse of the rial.  

“In such an abnormal situation, the question is: Why the “no war, no peace” situation continues, who benefits from it, and what should be done as conflicts within the government escalate? The all-out economic crisis is worsening day by day, and there is no clear policy to end the war, neither in the Islamic Republic nor in the US government, which hopes that tightening economic sanctions will finally bring the ruling regime in Iran to its knees. So who benefits from this “no war, no peace” situation continuing?” 

The article argues that parts of the Islamic government of Iran believe that the all-out escalation of the economic crisis and the government’s inability to overcome this crisis are confronting the ruling regime with major and incurable challenges. Therefore, by returning to the memorandum of understanding signed with the United States, the goal should be to end economic sanctions so that socio-economic pressures can be reduced and the situation in society can become partially calm and stable. On the other hand, it is pointed out that a significant portion of the IRGC and Basij commanders believe that by maintaining the current conditions and intensifying repression and executions, the regime can achieve the necessary political stability. 

“It is clear that when American bombs fall on the Iranian people, the Iranian government no longer needs to invent an enemy. The enemy really exists. And this is precisely what can blur the line between defending Iran and defending the Islamic Republic.” 

The article points out that the reality of the crises in Iran goes beyond the last six months and the military invasion of Iran by American imperialism and the criminal Zionist regime.  

The article reminds that the society has not remained silent. Despite the violence of the regime's repressive forces, strikes by workers and toilers, protest rallies by pensioners, and strikes by nurses and teachers continued. 

“Despite some illusions created after the military invasion of our homeland by American imperialism, the Velayat-e-Faqih regime and its new leadership are not reformable, and hoping for reforms from above is a mirage that only helps stabilize the regime.” 

The Tudeh Party of Iran believes that the struggle to end the war and the military intervention and aggression of US imperialism and the Israeli government is one of the most important tasks of progressive forces.  

The article answers its question by stating that the continuation of the current situation of “no war, no peace,” which both US imperialism and the arms giants and oil monopolies want to maintain, and the warmongers and oppressors of the Iranian regime.  

“It is clear to our party and all other national and progressive forces that our task today is to confront imperialist aggression against Iran, to preserve national independence and sovereignty, while continuing to fight against repression and dictatorial rule, and to strive for an immediate halt to executions, the immediate and unconditional release of all political and ideological prisoners, and support for the rights-seeking movements of the working people. It is in a stable peace that the internal struggle can be effectively carried out without foreign interference.”
