The Political Bureau of the Syrian Communist Party held a meeting on 28 October 2026 to discuss international and domestic political developments, the party’s organisational situation and ways to intensify class and popular struggles in response to current challenges.

The results of Israel’s 27 October parliamentary elections have placed the Joint List, led by Hadash chairman Yousef Jabareen, and the separate United Arab List (Ra’am) in a potentially decisive position in the formation of the next government. Demonstrations are held with the demand for a Jewish-Arab government. 

The Iraqi Communist Party (ICP) issued a significant statement on 28 October condemning the systematic campaign by government agencies to restrict peaceful protests and pursue activists and people expressing critical opinions.

The political confrontation following Israel’s 27 October parliamentary election intensified on Thursday, as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Likud party stepped up accusations against Arab political parties, while the Communist Party of Israel (Maki), Hadash and the Joint List called for respect for the election results and an end to incitement against Arab citizens.

The Communist Party of Israel (Maki), the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality (Hadash) and the Joint List leaders have presented the initial election results as an opportunity to challenge Benjamin Netanyahu’s government and advance a different political direction.

The Hadash-led Joint List (backed by the Communist Party of Israel) has won at least 10 seats in Israel’s 27 October parliamentary election, according to television exit polls, marking a substantial advance.
