52nd KNE - "Odigitis" Festival commenced in Thessaloniki

The main events of the 52nd KNE - "Odigiti" Festival in Thessaloniki, organised by the Communist Youth of Greece, started on Thursday afternoon at the former "Karatassiou" military camp , with thousands of workers, people and especially youth flocking to the venue from the first day.

The 52nd KNE - "Odigiti" Festival, which is being held this year under the slogan ""General, man has a flaw... he knows how to think!". With the KKE ahead, for Socialism!", will culminate on Saturday, September 19, at 8:30 p.m., with the large political gathering, where the Secretary of the KNE Central Committee, Thodoris Kotsantis, will speak, and the Secretary General of the KKE Central Committee, Dimitris Koutsoumbas, will greet .

According to 902.gr, from Thursday afternoon, the former "Karatassiou" military camp was filled with people. The hangouts came alive, and the Festival visitors took their places in the tents for the rich program of the first day.

The program began with the first events and discussions, while a large crowd of people toured the hangouts and the central exhibition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the DSE with lively interest. 

The first images from the Festival in Thessaloniki once again portend a large participation, a sign that the 52nd Festival will be a stop for thousands of young people and workers in the space where hope, creation, and struggle meet, with the subversive proposal of the KKE.

A discussion entitled "We think clearly, we act collectively, we live truly, not in all drugs and addictions" was held at the Student Stage, with speakers including Haris Salomidis, sociologist, member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Employees of the National Organization for the Prevention and Treatment of Addictions (EOPAE), Roula Georgiadi, psychiatrist, head of the Auxiliary Committee of the Central Macedonia Local Government of the KKE against Addictions, and Thanasis Sgouros , member of the KKE's KEOE.   

In the area of ​​soldiers and officers against the imperialist war, a discussion was held entitled "Soldiers and Officers at the forefront of action"  with speakers Amalia Papasotiriou, retired colonel, Leonidas Stoltides, MP for Thessaloniki of the KKE, and Giorgos Beikos, a worker who was punished during his term for his anti-war action.

The first day  of the main events of the 52nd KNE - "Odigiti" Festival in Thessaloniki continued with a rich artistic program,  with beloved artists and thousands of people filling the four stages of the Festival.
