On Saturday, August 1st, in Anin dol, on the outskirts of Samobor, the 89th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Croatia was marked, organized by Samobor anti-fascists and Socialist Workers Party of Croatia.

On behalf of the host, the commemoration was opened by comrades Petar Raić, president of the UABA of the city of Samobor, and Franjo Golenko, member of the Socialist Workers' Party.
The gathering was attended by representatives of UABA Zagreb and the Josip Broz Tito Society from Zagreb, as well as a busload of members of the Josip Broz Tito Society and the Socialist Workers' Party from Istria. The delegations laid wreaths, and a minute of silence was observed in memory of the deceased congress participants.
Those present were addressed by comrades Petar Raić, Franjo Golenko, deputy president of the SRP Vladimir Kapuralin and Željko Hodnik, who informed the attendees about the reasons for the establishment of the national branches of the party, the process of establishment itself in the conditions of illegality from which the party operated, and the significance that this had in connection with the preparations for the upcoming armed struggle against the occupiers and their domestic supporters.
