“Organize the Force, Dispute the Course”

Communist Party of Chile publishes National Conference resolutions

The Communist Party of Chile has published the political and organizational resolutions of its 2026 National Conference, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening popular organization, expanding political and social unity, and confronting the government of José Antonio Kast

Under the slogan “Organize the Force, Dispute the Course,” the Communist Party of Chile calls for the construction of an organized popular force capable of defending the rights of the majority and advancing toward a transformative alternative for Chile.

The conference, held on October 16, 17 and 18, brought together more than 300 delegates from across the country, representatives of the Central Committee and the Communist Youth of Chile. The resolutions address the national and international political situation, the party’s participation in the government of former President Gabriel Boric, updating of its political program and strengthening of mass work. The document also presents 14 urgent demands for a just and prosperous Chile.

Organize the Force, Confront the Government

The Communist Party of Chile places the strengthening of popular organization at the center of its political strategy in the current period. The party emphasizes that the struggle for social rights and democratic advances cannot be separated from the organization of the working class and the broader popular movement.

The conference reaffirmed the need to strengthen the unity of opposition forces and expand the party’s alliances with social and trade union organizations. The objective is to build a broad political and social force capable of confronting the policies of the Kast government and defending the rights of the majority.

The party’s resolutions stress that political action must be rooted in the people’s struggles, with mass work serving as a central task. The construction of an alternative cannot be reduced to electoral competition but must emerge from organized popular participation and the accumulation of forces.

The Communist Party of Chile also calls for a collective and self-critical assessment of its participation in the Boric government, emphasizing the need to draw lessons from that experience and strengthen its independent political positions.

A Program for the Demands of the Working People

The conference addressed the worsening living conditions of working families, identifying employment, wages, inflation, housing and social security as urgent concerns.

Among the proposals advanced by the party are measures to support the most precarious sectors of society, facilitate access to housing, improve employment opportunities for young people and women, and strengthen public investment in health, education and infrastructure.

The Communist Party of Chile also called for a review of the management of private pension fund administrators (AFPs), demanding explanations for losses affecting workers’ savings. It further emphasized the importance of public investment and local economic development in generating employment and improving living conditions.

These proposals form part of the party’s broader effort to update its political program and construct a transformative alternative that responds to the needs of the Chilean people.

Unity and Popular Mobilization Against the Right

The conference reaffirmed the importance of strengthening coordination among opposition parties while expanding the alliance to include broader sectors of society.

The Communist Party of Chile stressed that unity must be built through the recognition of different political identities, placing common objectives at the forefront. The party called for stronger ties with trade unions, social movements and popular organizations, emphasizing that the social dimension must be central to any political alliance.

The resolutions also reaffirmed the party’s support for student mobilizations and the struggles of social and trade union movements. The Communist Party of Chile emphasized that the demands raised during the October 2019 social uprising remain unresolved, warning that the continued exclusion and inequality that gave rise to the mobilization must be confronted.

The party called for the defense of the victims of the social uprising, the pursuit of justice and the prevention of further state repression.

Truth and Justice Against Impunity

The conference also reaffirmed the Communist Party of Chile's commitment to truth and justice concerning the crimes committed during the military dictatorship.

The party expressed solidarity with Senator Fabiola Campillai and rejected the granting of prison benefits to those responsible for crimes against humanity. It emphasized that the pursuit of justice and the defense of human rights remain fundamental to the country’s democratic future.

The resolutions further called for Chile to support the end of the US blockade against Cuba at the United Nations, reaffirming the party’s internationalist commitment and solidarity with the Cuban people.
