Wildfires continue to sweep through a number of regions in Greece. The firefighting teams of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) joined the struggle against the fires in West Aegialia.
Communist Party of Greece joins firefighting
The battle with the flames continues in West Aegialia, in the fire that has been raging in the area since Friday, which is mainly burning agricultural and forest lands, vineyards and olive groves.
It is characteristic that aerial firefighting equipment has been absent while the fire is burning in inaccessible areas, resurgences are continuous and strong winds prevail in the area.
Earlier, there was a 112 evacuation message for the areas of Arravonitsa, Synania, Agioi Theodoroi and Lidoriki.
The forest firefighting teams of KKE and KNE are in the battle to extinguish the fire, in Kato and Neo Salmenikos, led by Alexandros Pagonis , a member of KEOE and the Western Greece Regional Office of the KKE.
