A massive nationwide popular rally was organized by labor unions, trade unions and their bodies at HANTH Square in Thessaloniki. Cadres of the Communist Party of Greece actively participated in the preparations of the rally. The Secretary General of the Central Committee of the KKE, Dimitris Koutsoumbas, has also attended the rally, where he made the following statement:

"At a time when the people are groaning from the accuracy, from the low salaries and pensions, from the commercialization of education and health, from the great tax evasion, the government of Mr. Mitsotakis from the TIF, with the Greece 2030 roadmap, but also the other parties of the convenient opposition, are handing out crumbs of mockery while consenting, however, to the policy of intensifying exploitation, war budgets, Greece's participation in wars, in imperialist plans, spending billions for this purpose from the money of the Greek people.
A popular demand here and now: Give money for salaries and pensions. No sacrifice for their profits, no sacrifice for their wars. Money for health, education, social welfare, salaries and pensions, we will say it, we will repeat it. With the KKE in front, with the labor, agricultural, and broader popular movements, all the popular strata of our homeland on the streets of struggle.
