Communist Party of India hails youth movement

Speaking at a felicitation programme held at Ajoy Bhawan, Raja said the nationwide youth and student movement had demonstrated that united and determined popular action could bring about significant political change.

According to Raja, the movement's success in compelling the minister's resignation represented a major victory for students and young people who had resisted injustice. He argued that the achievement belonged to every participant who had contributed to the campaign and reaffirmed the power of collective struggle.

Raja presided over the felicitation programme, which was moderated by CPI National Secretary Amarjeet Kaur. The event was also attended by Saurav Das, Chief Spokesperson of the Campaign for Judicial Accountability and Reforms (CJP), who commended the role played by the All India Students' Federation (AISF) and other Left student organizations in leading the nationwide movement. AISF General Secretary Dinesh Seerangaraj delivered the welcome address, while AISF President Viraaj Devang proposed the vote of thanks.

During the ceremony, Raja and other CPI leaders presented roses and books to hundreds of young activists in recognition of their role in the movement. The programme was attended by members of the CPI National Secretariat, including Dr. Bhalchandra Kango, Rama Krushna Panda, Dr. Girish, and Annie Raja, as well as National Executive members Ravula Venkaiah, Prof. Dinesh Varshney, and Nisha Siddhu. The event concluded with cultural performances and slogans expressing solidarity and commitment to continued struggle.

While describing the resignation of the education minister as an important victory, Raja emphasized that the broader campaign for accessible, equitable and corruption-free public education remained unfinished. He expressed confidence that the younger generation would continue to play a leading role in advancing the struggles for democracy, justice and equality in India.
