Communist Party of Turkey protests oldest capitalist monolopy

KoƧ Holding is the oldest and one of the most powerful monopolies in Turkey. It "celebrated" its centenary with an event in Ankara. Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) staged a protest in front of the building, where KoƧ Holding's 100th anniversary event took place.

The event held at the ATO Congresium in Ankara to mark KoƧ Holding's 100th anniversary turned into a parade of political parties.

The event, hosted by Rahmi KoƧ, Ɩmer KoƧ, Ali KoƧ, and Semahat Arsel, brought together MHP Chairman Devlet BahƧeli, CHP leader Ɩzgür Ɩzel, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan, and Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır.

While the establishment parties united around the "big boss" of the system, TKP was protesting in front of the ATO Congresium.

Members of TKP marched to the front of the building chanting slogans such as "Thieving KoƧ Holding, thieving capital," and "Factories, fields, political power, everything will belong to labor," and made a statement there.

Despite police obstruction, during the demonstration, Ali Ufuk Arikan, a member of the Central Committee speaking on behalf of TKP said: ā€œIn the building opposite us, there is a show of force by Turkey's biggest thieves, those who steal the future of the poor and children. They call it KoƧ Holding. If there were even one ethical party in this country that wasn't lined up behind KoƧ Holding, they would be here. They are all inside. They are all standing at attention in front of the real boss of this country. They are celebrating their 100th anniversary here today. The AKP is here, the CHP is here, the MHP is here, the İYİ Party is here, the others are here. They are all bowing and saluting the real boss.ā€

ā€œKoƧ may be someone’s boss. He may be the boss of the political party leaders inside. But KoƧ is the exploiter, the bloodsucker of the working people of this country. He is a thieving exploiter who has seized control of this country’s resources,ā€ Arikan continued.

"They are celebrating their 100th anniversary behind the scenes. The reason we are confronting them is to show that there are people in this country who stand up for their homeland, their people, and their country. Let them know that we will take back everything they stole from us – the lives of our people, our nature, our factories – from these thieves. They shouldn't trust the AKP government, they shouldn't trust the opposition parties, the CHP, the MHP, and those who bow down to them. In this country, workers are dying of hunger, and they are putting police in front of us to protect them. The scoundrels at the head of this poverty-stricken system are in prison. Let them know and fear that the rule of honorable people, of revolutionaries, will be established in this country. Let them know that we will seize TÜPRAŞ, which they acquired for peanuts thanks to the AKP. They are living in great wealth and luxury. Tomorrow they are giving a big concert in Ankara, for the people of Ankara. Because KoƧ was born in Ankara… These exploiters derive this arrogance from this country's political system, and we will dismantle that system.ā€

Arikan concluded his remarks as follows: "We are here so that they know there are revolutionaries on the day they will celebrate with joy. We are here so that they know there are patriots. Not everyone in this country bows down to KoƧ. We promise, we will definitely overthrow their parasitic system. They shouldn't rely on their palaces. They shouldn't rely on the AKP or the CHP. We don't rely on them, we rely on the working people of this country. We promise that the power of the working people will be established in this country.ā€
