Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) has issued a statement on the latest US military operation in Venezuelan territory. The PCV categorically rejects the recent military operation carried out by US forces in Venezuelan territory.
Communist Party of Venezuela calls out against military incursions
“We are facing yet another foreign military incursion into our national territory. This is yet another episode of the violation of Venezuelan sovereignty and the subordination of the Venezuelan government to the interests of the United States—the same power that just a few months ago bombed Caracas and kidnapped Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, and today acts as a guardian over the country's fundamental decisions. It is particularly serious that the government, which for years denied the existence of the Tren de Aragua gang and dismissed allegations regarding the expansion of this criminal organization, now seeks to present a joint operation with US military forces to execute the man it recognizes as the founder and main leader of that gang as a success.”
The statement refuses to let the fight against drug trafficking and organized crime to become a legitimization of foreign military operations, the surrender of national sovereignty, or the presence of an imperialist power's military apparatus on our territory.
PCV reminds that behind this type of intervention, economic interests linked to the control of natural resources and strategic territories often come into play. The PCV warns of the severity of the extrajudicial execution announced by US authorities.
“No person may be arbitrarily deprived of life without due process. Summary execution constitutes a violation of fundamental principles of international law and universal human rights guarantees.”
The Communist Party of Venezuela calls on workers, peasants, students, popular movements, democratic organizations, and patriotic forces to remain vigilant and mobilized in defence of national independence, the country's strategic resources, and the rights of the Venezuelan people.
“The defence of sovereignty cannot be left in the hands of those who negotiate it. It is up to the Venezuelan people to take on the historic task of preventing Venezuela from being turned into a platform for foreign domination and imperialist plunder.”
