The camp began with a welcome address from the New Communist Party of the Netherlands (NCPN) party board.
Communist Youth Movement of Netherlands successfully completes summer camp
The Communist Youth Movement of the Netherlands (CJB) held its sixth youth summer camp from 5 to 8 August.
Young people from eight different countries took part. The Communist Youth Collectives (CJC) from Spain; the United Democratic Youth Organisation (EDON); the Young Communists of Belgium (JCB); the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE); the Socialist German Workers' Youth (SDAJ); the Communist Youth of Sweden (SKU); the Communist Youth of Turkey (TKG); and the Workers' Party Youth (WPY) from Ireland all had stands in the international area of the camp.
An international seminar was held on topics such as rising militarisation, the limitations of social democratic governments and imperialist interventions in Syria and Iran.
In addition to the cultural and sporting events organised at the camp, there were also training sessions where experiences of union struggles and workplace organisation were shared and discussed. The mechanics of war were also discussed from a perspective that places them within the context of human history.
