CPI(M) intensifies local election campaign in Rajasthan

CPI(M) leaders campaign for party candidates in Rajasthan’s Sikar district

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) intensified its campaign for the local elections in Rajasthan’s Sikar district, holding a series of public meetings in support of Rekha Jangid, the party’s candidate for Ward No. 44 of the Sikar Zila Parishad.

The meetings were organised across 11 gram panchayats: Thorasi, Palthana, Jhigar Chhoti, Bhairupura, Melasi, Bhadadhar, Kirdoli, Akwa, Gothra Bhukaran, Jerthi and Kudan.

The campaign was addressed by CPI(M) Politburo member and Member of Parliament Amra Ram, former MLA Pemaram and Rajasthan state secretary Kishan Pareek. They called for strengthening the struggle for the rights and interests of farmers, workers, young people and the wider population.

The speakers appealed to voters to support Rekha Jangid in the Zila Parishad election and the party’s candidates contesting for the Dhod Rural Panchayat Samiti, urging them to provide their votes and support to secure their election.

The campaign forms part of the CPI(M)’s broader efforts to strengthen its presence in local government in Sikar district. In August, the party had established election committees for the Dhod area, assigning responsibilities for campaigning and coordination across the municipal and rural constituencies.

Amra Ram, a longstanding farmers’ movement leader and the MP for Sikar, has played a prominent role in building the CPI(M)’s political presence in the Shekhawati region through farmers’ struggles and other local campaigns.
