Hadash delegation in solidarity with people of Tel Arad

A delegation from Hadash, Democratic Front for Peace and Equality led by the Communist Party of Israel, participated in the day of solidarity with the people of Tel Arad.

The solidarity event was held in in Tel Arad, an unrecognized Arab village in the Negev, following the demolition of dozens of homes belonging to the Al-Nabari family in the Al-Qurayk area. The delegation included Yousef Jabareen, Yousef Atawneh, Aqab Al-Awawdeh, and Saleh Ghubarieh. The event, organized by the Higher Steering Committee for Arabs of the Negev, drew hundreds of local residents and political activists.

According to Al-Ittihad, in his address to the participants, Jabareen said that the demolitions are part of a broader and systematic policy targeting Arab communities in the Negev, affecting their land, housing, and presence in the region. He stressed the importance of standing with the residents of Tel Arad and supporting their struggle for housing rights and dignified living conditions. He also emphasized that Arab unity and continued popular mobilization are essential to resisting policies of demolition, displacement, and denial of rights.

Atawneh likewise called for strengthening national unity and expanding grassroots resistance against demolition and displacement policies. He urged broad participation in a planned demonstration in front of the Bedouin Settlement Authority in Beersheba to protest what organizers describe as policies of forced displacement and migration in the Negev. Both Jabareen and Atawneh highlighted the seriousness of the challenges facing Arab communities, particularly in the Negev, and reaffirmed the need to continue collective action against discrimination, home demolitions, and displacement until equal rights and dignity are secured.
