Aida Touma-Suleiman and Ofer Cassif, members of the Israeli parliament, affirmed that they will not back down from holding a conference in the Knesset on the transfer of Palestinians and the targeting of Palestinian communities.
Hadash to hold conference in Knesset
In recent days right-wing gangs have launched a widespread incitement campaign. Both coalition and opposition members demanded that the Speaker of the Knesset prevent the convening of the conference, "This is how the transfer is carried out - Palestinian communities under attack," initiated by MKs Aida Touma-Suleiman and Ofer Cassif. They threatened to even physically obstruct the Knesset. The conference is scheduled to be held on the 2nd of June.
According to Al-Ittihad, Touma-Suleiman and Cassif, both members of the Communist Party of Israel, asserted that this attack is part of the policies of the fascist right wing, which has infiltrated the Knesset and the government, where broad factions agree on the project of displacing Palestinians from their various locations and even incite and advocate for it. They emphasized that this criminal mentality provides cover for settler terrorism and crimes in the West Bank, and is the same mentality that fears the exposure of the truth about displacement projects, while conferences are held for these same inciters to encourage criminal settlement activity.
Touma-Suleiman and Cassif affirmed that they will not back down from holding the conference and exposing the transfer plans, their implementation mechanisms, and the policies that fuel and encourage them. "We will continue to confront the incitement campaigns led by fascists in the Knesset, along with their arms from extremist associations and settler mobs. Defending the right to political action is a fundamental condition for exposing the crimes of the occupation and confronting the policy of displacement."
