Joint List returns: Hadash, Ta'al and Balad run together in elections

The leaders of Hadash, Balad, and Ta'al announced on Wednesday the re-establishment of the Joint List ahead of the upcoming Knesset elections. Hadash is the front led by the Communist Party of Israel.

According to Zo Khadarek, Hadash stated: "This is an important moment for the Arab public in Israel, for the Jewish democratic forces, and for anyone who wishes to see the Knesset as a determined and influential political force that will fight for equality, peace, democracy, and social justice. Our shared responsibility is to build a large and influential political force, bring about broad political participation by the Arab public, and provide an alternative to the Netanyahu-Ben Gvir-Smotrich government, in order to prevent its return to power and lead to real change in the country."

The announcement was made after the three political movements reached an agreement on the composition of the list. In first place will be Prof. Yousef Jabarin (Hadash); in second place is MK Ahmed Tibi (Ta'al); in third place is former MK Sami Abu Shehadeh (Balad); in fourth place is Ja'far Farah (Hadash); in fifth place is Bakr Awada (Balad); in sixth place is MK Ofer Cassif (Hadash); in seventh place is former MK Yousef Atauna (Hadash); in eighth place is Dr. Maha Karkabi-Sabah (Balad); in ninth place is a representative of Ta'al (the movement has not yet chosen its candidates for the Knesset); in tenth place is Dr. Nahaya Shahi (Hadash); in eleventh place is Hassan Natsatsara (Balad); in twelfth place is a representative of Ta'al; and in thirteenth place is Ayas Natour (Hadash).

Former MK Yousef Jabarin, who will head the Joint List, said: "I am excited to announce the establishment of the Joint List, together with my colleagues  MKs Ahmed Tibi and Sami Abu Shehadeh. Out of responsibility and deep respect for the will of our public, and also for the Jewish democratic forces, we have re-established the Joint List, a political force that will represent all of us with dignity, courage and determination, and will be a partner in the struggle against fascism, and for true and full equality and a just peace."

Jabarin added: "In the coming weeks, we will work with all our might to increase the voter turnout among our public, and to ensure that the Netanyahu-Ben Gvir-Smotrich government does not return to power. This is not only our mission, it is the mission of everyone who seeks to change the difficult reality in which we live. From here, I extend a hand to a courageous, egalitarian and democratic Jewish-Arab partnership. A partnership that will strive to replace the fascist government, racism and supremacy with another vision: a vision of partnership, equality and peace. The road to victory begins here, based on this courageous vision."
