KKE Europarliamentary Group condemns equating fascism with communism

The Group emphasised that "For yet another year, the EU and the Commission are 'serving' the ahistorical construct of the fascism-communism equation, baptizing August 23 as "day of remembrance for the victims of totalitarian and authoritarian regimes", attempting to impose an "anniversary" to accompany their dozens of anti-communist and reactionary fictions." 

According to 902.gr, in a press release it noted:

"Of course, this ahistorical and provocative 'celebration' is being exploited even more today to whitewash the EU and present that its 'values' supposedly serve the peace and dignity of peoples, while the EU is leading the way on the imperialist war fronts and escalating the attack against the peoples of its member countries."

This is, of course, the EU itself, which, through the Commission, last May provocatively asked the KKE MEPs to withdraw their question about the 200 communist heroes of Kaisariani, stating that "historical narratives and German war reparations do not fall within the Commission's competence."

This is the rotten EU that the bourgeois leaderships and parties embellish at every opportunity. On the one hand, it does not miss an opportunity to falsify historical truth and pour out anti-communist poison, on the other hand, it declares itself "incompetent", when historical evidence reveals the "rape" of historical truth itself and shatters into pieces the unacceptable attempt to equate communism with the monster of fascism, that is, the executed communists with their Nazi executioners. 

As for the allegations of the responsibility of the non-aggression pact between the Soviet Union and Germany (Molotov-Ribbentrop) for the start of World War II, on the occasion of August 23, the day the pact was signed, the EU and the bourgeois headquarters conveniently forget the Munich Agreement between Nazi Germany, Britain, France, and Italy, which in practice turned its "back" on Hitler's plans, primarily the attack on the USSR. 

They are trying in every way to obscure that the causes that led to World War II lie in the competition between capitalist states for the division of markets and spheres of influence, of routes for the transport of goods and energy, that the USSR bore the brunt of the struggle against fascism-Nazism, paying a heavy toll in blood, with over 25 million dead and over 10 million disabled and wounded, that the Red Flag with the hammer and sickle was triumphantly raised over the Reichstag by the Red Army. While, in the defeat of fascism-Nazism, the contribution of the popular national liberation movements led by the communists was decisive, who put into practice what the "democratic" capitalist governments had refused to do for three years, opening the second front to Nazi Germany and its allies in the heart of occupied Europe.

But history cannot be erased. These events have been etched in indelible ink in the consciousness of the people, no matter how much poison the EU, the capitalists and their apologists pour, aiming to impose new heavy sacrifices on the people so that the monopolies can have guaranteed profits from the war slaughters. 

The "anguish" of the EU-governments-capital with the ahistorical calls to the people to rally behind their rotten "values" that bring imperialist war, the labor Middle Ages, the "costed" impoverishment, the ban on the Communist Party in EU member states, shows precisely that the people can follow the path of conflict to overthrow capitalist barbarity with their struggle, to build society in the "shape of dreams and people", socialism-communism.
