The volunteer groups of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) and the new fire truck of the Attica Party Organization of KKE joined the battle against the fire that broke out in Salamis.

According to 902.gr, they rushed to help the residents of Salamis save their homes and contribute to the work of the firefighters to put out the fire.
A KKE delegation including Georgios Stefanakis, member of the Central Committee, visited the fire fronts burning in Peristeria and Selinia, in Salamis.
"We are a KKE echelon here on the beach of Peristeria. The situation is tragic," emphasized G. Stefanakis in a statement, noting that KKE, both in Parliament and with those elected on the "Popular Rally" ballot to the Salamina Municipal Council, has repeatedly highlighted that the necessary fire protection measures are not being taken, such as strengthening the firefighting forces, opening roads, etc.
On the occasion of the two deaths from the fire in Peristeria, Salamis, G. Stefanakis pointed out that "once again the incompetent executive state shows that it is murderous", adding: "We continue with the voluntary effort of members of KKE to stop the fire".
