Officials and staff from the Central Committee headquarters signed this initiative, which is now circulating throughout the nation. As the Head of State stated on April 16th at the event commemorating the 65th anniversary of the proclamation of the socialist character of the Revolution, this initiative must become a national and international solidarity movement that brings the truth about Cuba, the suffering of the people due to the blockade and the multidimensional economic war—exacerbated by the energy embargo—to every corner of the planet. He described this situation as genocide due to the extreme levels of deprivation to which all Cubans are subjected.
