PCdoB secures 11 Deputies

PCdoB announces electoral results

The Communist Party of Brazil (PCdoB) shared results from the general elections which took place on October 4th.

The Communist Party of Brazil (PCdoB) has secured 11 seats in the next legislature – an 83% increase compared to the six deputies elected in 2022.

“This result reflects the combative performance of the PCdoB caucus in the Chamber of Deputies and the success of our strategy of focusing on stronger candidates, aligned with our party identity. We went from six to 11 deputies even in a scenario of an offensive by the far right,” says Nádia CampeĂŁo, national president of the PCdoB.

Federal deputies Daniel Almeida and Alice Portugal were re-elected. They will be joined by current state deputy OlĂvia Santana.

In Rio de Janeiro, the Party elected newcomer Elias Jabbour to the Chamber of Deputies and secured another term – the ninth – for the veteran congresswoman Jandira Feghali. The state had not had two elected communist representatives since 1994.

The new communist caucus will also have two representatives from the North region: Perpétua Almeida, in Acre, and Professor Marcivânia, in Amapá.

From the current PCdoB caucus in the Chamber of Deputies, three other deputies were re-elected: Márcio Jerry (MA), Daiana Santos (RS), and Gervásio Maia (PB). Among the newcomers is Giovana Mondardo, elected for the first time in Santa Catarina.
