As Communist Party of Turkey's (TKP) members and friends came together across the country to mark the Party’s 106th anniversary, major events were held in Ankara, İzmir and İstanbul.
TKP marks 106th anniversary with new members
At the Ä°zmir gathering, TKP General Secretary Kemal Okuyan welcomed new members into the Party and presented them with their Party badges following his speech.
In Sakarya, one of Turkey’s major industrial centres, construction workers who had been fighting for their rights with the support of TKP’s workers’ solidarity network “Breathe Down the Bosses’ Neck” brought their struggle to a victorious end today after winning their demands. On the Party’s 106th anniversary, they came together at the local Party office and joined TKP collectively, receiving their Party badges as new members.
Apart from the nationwide activities, Party members across the country distributed leaflets marking the 106th of the Party on the streets.
