The José Martí Cuba Friendship Association (JMKDD) of Turkey has launched a solidarity campaign for Cuba, which is under a US blockade. In a statement, the association announced that the campaign, titled "Gathering Solar Energy for Cuba," aims to support Cuba's ongoing efforts to increase its solar energy production.
TKP supports solar panel campaign for Cuba
Following the association's announcement, the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) issued a statement on its social media account saying, "As the Communist Party of Turkey, we declare that we will do everything in our power to expand this solidarity; we invite all TKP members, volunteers, and friends to respond to this call."
Donations collected as part of the campaign will meet the energy needs of three important health centers in Santa Clara, Cuba. Solar panels, inverters, and energy storage batteries will be procured for the Ernesto Che Guevara Cardiology Center at the University Hospital, the Daniel Codorniu Pruna General Teaching Hospital, and the Freddy Maymura Hurtado Psychopedagogical Center.
