The Communist Youth Union of the Czech Republic (Komunistický svaz mládeže, KSM) has condemned the decision by Kateřina Konečná, former chairwoman of the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (KSČM), to join the Patriots for Europe group in the European Parliament.

The Mouvement des jeunes communistes de France (MJCF), the youth organisation associated with the French Communist Party (PCF), has reported a surge in membership during the recent student and youth protests, with approximately 1,000 new members joining since the movement began.

The Communist Party of Poland (KPP) has criticised the far-right politician Grzegorz Braun and his Confederation of the Polish Crown (Konfederacja Korony Polskiej, KKP), arguing that their anti-establishment rhetoric conceals an economic programme that would benefit capital owners while undermining workers’ rights and public services.

The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and its youth organisation, the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), welcomed the mass demonstrations held across Greece on 21 October, when tens of thousands of school students, university students, teachers, parents and workers took to the streets demanding better public education, safer schools and measures to address the rising cost of living.

The Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) held a protest in Ankara against the Mecca Agreement, which they said would drag the country into war. The agreement signed between Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan was brought before parliament and its content disclosed after more than two months of its signing.

The Progressive Party of Working People (AKEL) has intensified its opposition to the establishment of a pro-Israel parliamentary group in Cyprus, arguing that the initiative risks turning the House of Representatives into a platform for promoting the interests of a foreign state.
