While a de facto state of emergency continues in the capital city of Turkey due to the upcoming NATO summit, the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) marched to Kızılay Square, centre of Ankara, with the slogan “Down with imperialism, down with NATO!”
The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) Euro-Parliamentary Group highlighted the brutal repression of anti-NATO protests in Ankara, Turkey, before and during the NATO Summit held in that city. A question was submitted to the European Commission by Costas Papadakis .
Close to 150 members of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP), who were detained in different cities across the country for protesting NATO, were released. The Party issued a brief on the subject.
