While a de facto state of emergency continues in the capital city of Turkey due to the upcoming NATO summit, the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) marched to Kızılay Square, centre of Ankara, with the slogan “Down with imperialism, down with NATO!”

The mobilisations started after an 87 year-old woman was evicted. The Party called for further mobilisations on 3-4 October: "Once again, organization and struggle prove to be the most powerful tool: they serve to wrest victories and to assert our interests."
