While a de facto state of emergency continues in the capital city of Turkey due to the upcoming NATO summit, the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) marched to Kızılay Square, centre of Ankara, with the slogan “Down with imperialism, down with NATO!”

In recent days operations were conducted by the government, against two major religious orders in Turkey, known as Süleymanists and Furkanists. The Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) issued a statement, demanding the disbandment of all of these orders. TKP has been a staunch supporter of this idea for decades. Party cadres will be campaigning for this in the coming days.
