Working Group of the 24th IMCWP met in İstanbul
The Iraqi Communist Party has issued an urgent national appeal to confront the dangers threatening Iraq and to protect its people and sovereignty.
The José Martí Cuba Friendship Association (JMKDD) of Turkey has launched a solidarity campaign for Cuba, which is under a US blockade. In a statement, the association announced that the campaign, titled "Gathering Solar Energy for Cuba," aims to support Cuba's ongoing efforts to increase its solar energy production.
The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Diaz-Canel and the member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization, Dr. Roberto Morales Ojeda participated on the 22nd of April morning in the event held at the party headquarters to support the #MiFirmaPorLaPatria initiative.
The Working Group of 24th IMCWP adopted a statement of solidarity with Cuba, the venue of the 24th IMCWP.
At the 24th IMCWP Working Group meeting held in İstanbul, a statement on the US Imperialist-Israeli War of Aggression on Iran and Israeli Criminal War on Lebanon was adopted by the participating parties.
A large-scale solidarity event titled “Cuba Will Win!” was held at the Nâzım Hikmet Cultural Center. Organized by the Communist Party of Turkey, the gathering brought together a broad audience from İstanbul.
Lo Que Somos (What We Are), a book written by Ástor García, General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Workers of Spain, will be published soon.
The Palestinian People’s Party condemned the Palestinian Authority’s handover of citizen Mahmoud Al-Adra, known as Hisham Harb, to the French authorities, stressing that the move constitutes a clear and explicit violation of Article 28 of the Palestinian Basic Law, which prohibits the handover of any Palestinian to a foreign entity under any circumstances.
The attempt of the Polish authorities to outlaw the Communist Party of Poland (KPP) has failed once again. Constitutional Tribunal had declared the party unconstitutional, with a high-profile ruling. The Party has been reinstated in the official register of political parties and continues to operate legally.
The Party of Labour of Austria (PdA) announced the sudden and unexpected passing of its Chairman, Tibor Zenker, who died at his home in Wolkersdorf on 16 April 2026 at the age of 50.
Sudanese Communist Party issued a statement entitled “Hate Speech… Dalgo and the Shared National Destiny”. The Party said, “In the midst of the raging war in Sudan, the danger is no longer confined to the battlefronts; it has extended deep into the social fabric, where hate speech and racism are escalating in a way that threatens to tear apart what remains of the bonds of shared living. What occurred in Dalgo should not be read as an isolated incident.”
The Party issued a statement on the anniversary of the defence of socialism at Playa Girón. The statement said, “Heir to the revolutionary traditions of our people, the Communist Party of Cuba arrives at this April 16th with new motivations in defence of unity, the beautiful work of the Revolution and a historical legacy that already adds up to more than one hundred years of struggle.
That day – when the entire population came out to defend socialism on the sands of Playa Girón – is considered the founding date of our Party.”
